This was a 5-day nationwide story done on a former pro wrestler exposing the business. I was asked by my hometown newspaper to comment on his statement. And we all remember the 20/20 television program. Below are the paragraphs with my views.

WRESTLING BENEFIT

Proceeds from the benefit, Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Boulevard Lanes, Rhawn St. and Roosevelt Blvd., will help William and Annmarie Dopke pay the bills that accrued during the lengthy hospitalization of their son Michael, who died last week of cancer.

Joel Goodhart and Carmella Panfil, co-hosts of WDVT's (AM/900) "Rasslin' Radio" talk show (Fridays from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sundays from noon to 1 p.m.), are sponsoring a bowling benefit to help pay hospital bills of a 9- year-old wrestling fan who died last week.

A lover of professional wrestling, Michael received telephone calls and a visit from some of his heroes during his last weeks. Among those who helped him get through the last tough days were local wrestlers Larry Winters and Ron Shaw and Pittsburgh wrestler Domenic DeNucci.

A $10 fee will cover a donation, refreshments and entry in the tournament. Pre-registration by telephone is required at 671-9712 or 745-8315.
